Indian players shared emotional messages on social media after registering a historic win at Lord’s by 151 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Team India is the only the 2nd team after New Zealand to declare the third innings after lunch on the final day and win a Test at Lord’s. Team India defeated England by 151 runs in the 2nd test of the 5 test match series and took a 1-0 lead in the Eng-Ind test series.

India was 181 for 6 at the end of Day 4. The Indians depended on the wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant to score runs for the Indian side, but Pant was dismissed by Robinson early on Day 5. It was the tail-enders Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah who scored the crucial runs for the Indian team towards the end. Bumrah and Shami added a solid total of 89 not-out runs on the Indian scorecard.
We were hungry, had desire and we showed it! Everyone turned up and we leave Lord’s with a win that we won’t forget soon. We take this momentum and move on. pic.twitter.com/xG9kaWtdU6

Team India returned back on the field after lunch. Team India dismissed both the English openers for duck and kept on taking wickets and bowled out England for 120 in less than 52 overs.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah and England pacer James Anderson were involved in a verbal banter on Day 4, and Bumrah replied with bouncers. England pacer gave it back to the Indian tail-enders but they frustrated the English bowlers with a game-changing partnership.
When you work hard results show on the field. A proud moment for me personally to deliver with the bat for 🇮🇳. Loved my partnership with Bumrah🙌🏾 #TeamIndia #mshami11 pic.twitter.com/5c1zvZaUJb

The Indian captain Virat Kohli also acknowledged the fact that the on-field heated banters with England gave their bowlers the motivation to go and win the game at the very last hour.
Can’t put into words the feelings that we’re going through after that win! So proud of the whole team 🔥 pic.twitter.com/FRH20cbujl

“The way we played in the second innings after being put under pressure – Jasprit and Shami were outstanding. We had the belief we can get them out in 60 overs. A bit of tension on the field really motivated us to finish the game,” Kohli said after the iconic win at Lord’s.
Full efforts is full victory! 🇮🇳
