In what came to a blunder for Denmark, mid-fielder Christian Eriksen collapsed in the 42nd minute of the match. He was taken to hospital following a medical emergency and the match was suspended and resumed at 12:00 am IST. Eriksen is now stable and undergoing medical treatment at a private hospital in Parken.

Before Denmark could absorb the shock of the collapse, Finland scored a goal in the second half after the resumption of the game. Denmark was low on confidence and couldn’t retaliate as Finland won by 1-0. J. Pohjanpalo scored the lone goal of the match for Finland in the 59th minute of the match.
The Football World offered support to Eriksen and Denmark after the news of the collapse came out and Finland raised flags after the match depicting a sign of sportsmanship for the recovery of Eriksen.

Belgium defeated Russia in the last scheduled game for 12th June. Russia suffered a humiliating loss as Belgium scored 3 goals and Russia wasn’t able to open their account. For Russia to qualify, they need massive victories over Finland and Denmark. Belgium has almost cleared its path for qualification.
