ICC has released the final groupings for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Hosts India has been placed in the same group as Pakistan along with New Zealand, Afghanistan, and the two qualifier teams of Group A and B. Whereas Group 1 consists of England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, and the two qualifier teams of Group A and B.

The countries in Group A are Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands, and Namibia while Group B comprises Bangladesh, Scotland, Papua New Guinea, and Oman. Group A and Group B will play the first round in the T20 World Cup. The qualifying teams of Group A and B will be a part of the Super 12.
The ICC T20 World Cup will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman after being shifted from India amid the COVID-19 pandemic scare. The tournament will kickstart on October 17th and the final will be played on November 14th. The venues selected for the ICC event are Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah Stadium, and Oman Cricket Academy Ground.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah expressed his excitement saying, “With the announcement of groupings, our countdown for the ICC T20 World Cup kickstart. There is nothing that separates the two groups as both are packed with sides that are highly competitive in the shortest format of the game. Having said that, the exciting T20 format is known for its surprises, and we must be prepared for the same. I’m sure we’ll witness some exciting and nail-biting matches.”

The Indian fans are going crazy about the fact that India and Pakistan are placed in the same group, which means we will be witnessing the IND vs Pak World Cup match in the upcoming tournament. ICC is yet to announce the fixtures for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup.
