The Summer Olympics at Tokyo, 2021 is less than a month away and preparations in the Indian Camp have taken a pace. The Indian Men’s Hockey team is eyeing a prestigious medal to add up glory in India’s Tally. The players are all set and vaccinated to leave for Tokyo. India will face New Zealand in its first match of Pool A on 24th July 2021.

On speaking with the Goalkeepers Krishna Pathak and PR Sreejesh, both of them revealed the strategies and confirmed that the momentum in the camp is soaring high. Pathak and Sreejesh are valuable assets to the team and will be the leaders at defense in the Olympics. While the support staff has not yet declared the goalie, both of them will play an important role in deciding the team’s fate in the mega tournament.

Krishna Pathak revealed that coordination with the defenders is the key to a healthy defense. He believes that the sync with defenders will make it hard for the opposition to get past it and score a goal. Pathak also mentioned that the goalkeeper is never alone if the defenders are in sync and coordination is at the peak.

The statements of Krishna Pathak clearly mention that the Indian Team will be focusing on the defense at the Olympics. The opposition will not find it easy to get through the defense and score a goal. The Goalkeepers are working hard to form a strong defense and it is a healthy sign ahead of the much anticipated Olympics.

PR Sreejesh also spoke with the media and confirmed that India is forming various strategies in defense as well as attack. India is keen to use video analysis at its best and tackle the opposition’s defense by forming strategies based on video analysis. Sreejesh also mentioned that the support staff playing a crucial role in the team’s development.
