R Ashwin began his cricketing career as an Opening batsman for his school and college team. His coaches C.K Vijay and Chandra changed his bowling action from medium-pace to spin. He has then dropped down the batting order and played at the lower middle order. He concentrated on his bowling as his spin led to the born of a new mystery spinner.
R Ashwin’s early days in cricket are fondly remembered through his extraordinary performance. After an impressive performance in 2009, Ashwin booked a regular place in 2010 and 2011 where the franchise won the coveted IPL trophy.
