The American will play world number six Karolina Pliskova or compatriot Danielle Collins in the quarter-finals.
After this victory of Serena Williams, she sounded a warning for her fellow Australian Open contenders. Being a23-times Grand Slam winner and a seven-time Australian Open champion, she is definitely and threat for world number one Barty and also for Australian Open champion Kenin.
Williams will next play compatriot Danielle Collins for a semi-final spot and she is extremely happy about this win which is an immense motivation for herself.
