Madrid (Spain): The Leg 1 of the first semi-final between Spanish Football Club Real Madrid and English Football Club Chelsea has ended in a draw at the Estadio Alfredo Stadium. The score at the end of 90+4 minutes of the game was 1-1. Both the teams displayed an outstanding combination of both attack and defense.
Starting with the kickoff, Chelsea rode on to an epic goal by Pulisisc in the 14th minute of the game. Madrid counter-attacked in the 29th minute of the game with Benzema’s fantastic goal. Chelsea missed many opportunities by missing 4 out of the 5 shots on target.
At the initial phase of the Champions League, no one had ever expected Chelsea to ride into the semi-final. However, their brilliant fightback and defense have earned them a place in the semis. With a draw in the first leg, Chelsea is now just a step away from winning the title. Chelsea had last appeared in the finals back in 2012.
Madrid had made a comfortable entry into the semi-final by defeating Liverpool in the quarters. Madrid finished as table toppers of Group B with winning 3 out of the 6 league matches. The former champions will be looking to storm into the final by winning the second leg.
Meanwhile, PSG will take on Manchester City in the first leg of the second semi-final tomorrow. The cracker of a game will begin at 12:30 am IST.
Madrid will now travel to Chelsea’s home ground at Stamford Bridge in London to play the second leg of the semi-final. The winner of the match will earn a guaranteed ticket to the Champions League Final 2021. The match is scheduled for 6th May, 12:30 am IST.
