Serbian World No. 1 Seed Novak Djokovic defeated Italian Top Seed Matteo Berrettini to lift his sixth Wimbledon title. With his sixth Wimbledon title, Djokovic now equals the record of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to win 20 Grand Slam Titles. Djokovic is one of the most successful Men’s Singles players in the history of Tennis.

Djokovic defeated 10th Seed Canadian Danis Shapovalov in the Semi-Final by 3 straight-set victories. Berrettini defeated Hurkacz in his Semi-Final match. Hurkacz had earlier defeated Roger Federer in the quarterfinal who is the most successful player in Wimbledon history. Berrettini entered the Wimbledon finals for the first time.

In the Finals at the Center Court in London, Matteo Berrettini rode on to an excellent start by winning the first set in a tie-breaker. Berrettini won 7-4 in the first set tiebreaker. After the first set, it was no looking back for the top seed Djokovic as he won three straight sets. Djokovic won the second and third set by 6-4 games and eventually won the fourth set by 6-3 to create history at Wimbledon.

In the Women’s Singles, Australian World No. 1 Seed Ashleigh Barty defeated Czechia Top Seed Karolina Pliskova by 2-1. The young Australian 25-year old tennis star won Wimbledon for the first time in her career. The wait for Czechia star Pliskova to win a Grand Slam Title continues as she lost in her second major final.

In the Men’s Doubles category, Croatian 1st seeds Mate Pavic and Nikola Mektic defeated 4th seeds Marcel Granollers from Spain and Horacia Zeballos from Argentina to win the Final. Women’s Doubles saw third seeds Hsieh Su-Wei from Taiwan and Elise Mertens from Germany defeat Elena Vesnina and Veronika Kudermetova from Russia in the Finals.
